Her doctoral dissertation was titled “Stress Reduction through Skills Training in Families of the Severely Psychiatrically Disabled: A Rehabilitation Psychology Approach”.
She also holds an M.S. in Rehabilitation Counseling with a specialty in Psychiatric Rehabilitation/Counseling in Mental Health Settings from Boston University, Boston, Massachusetts.
She completed her B.A. in English with a minor in Psychology from Berry College, Mt. Berry, Georgia.
She has served as an Associate Professor of Research at the Department of Disability and Psychoeducational Studies and as an Associate Member at the Arizona Cancer Center, Cancer Prevention and Control.
She has also been an Adjunct Research Fellow at the School of Human Services and Social Work, Griffith Health Institute, Queensland, Australia.
